With almost two years of being in lockdown, mental health has been at risk. Conditions like depression and anxiety have dramatically increased during this time. And the main reason has been the absence of physical presence of our family and friends and the pressure of adapting to the new world of business. 

Our humble furry friend, the teddy bear, is the best option to overcome or deal with these mental health issues. You can even look here for an appropriate one. We often think that stuffed toys like teddy bears are only meant for children. But in reality, many adults have stuffed toys too.

A study of 2018 even shows that around 43% of adults admitted that they have a stuffed friend, and surprisingly 84% of them were men. The study even proves that owning a stuffed friend has nothing to do with gender or age. 

Still confused, how can teddy bears help you deal with mental health? Well, this post is going to clear all your doubts. 

1. Provides comfort and support

In this time, when the whole world is locked inside their house, seeing a friendly face can make a significant difference. And when you speak about a familiar face, it includes everything and anything that gives you a sense of comfort. This even includes your stuffed friend. 

There have been countless studies that prove that a teddy bear can ease anxiety and offer much-needed support to humans in any possible setting.

With so much time spent inside our homes, it may feel like a strange place for a lot of us. But knowing that we can get the comfort we need from a teddy can make a lot of difference.

2. Exploring emotions

No matter how old you are, it always seems complicated when you are trying to learn about your own emotions. You must be given the time and space to explore your emotions in difficult times. Teddy Bears can be an excellent support in this exploration. Especially in the current scenario. 

Many issues can arise in your life which can affect your mental health. When these issues are dealt with early, it is much less likely to lead to further problems later in life.

3. Helps encouraging conversations

When humans feel at ease, they are more likely to start a conversation. There are even chances of them verbalizing their inner feelings or situations they are struggling with. 

Having a teddy bear can be a great aid to encourage such conversation. This can not only help adults to deal with their issues but also help children to talk to each other more. As communicating can solve any problem, this could be the first step to working through mental health issues as well. 

4. Helps you form friendships

We live in a society where building a bond is what is required to survive. It has been often seen that not only adults but even children feel, forming friendships is difficult.

For a healthy and fulfilled childhood, it is vital to have an opportunity to play with others and form attachments outside of the family unit. And a teddy bear can help you do so, as it is an ideal tool for forming new friendships or even rekindling old ones.

We know from various studies that interaction helps you reduce stress. However, getting your favourite person beside you every time isn’t practically possible. But, having your favourite teddy is easy.

No matter how old you are, taking care of your mental health has to be your prime concern, and teddy bears can help with this.
