Security camera systems are one of the most cost-effective home security solutions you can get to protect your family, loved ones, and assets. It won’t be enough to just buy one and install it anywhere you want, though. To truly gain the benefits of a CCTV camera, you can set it up in these three areas for maximum coverage and peace of mind.

Along Entry Points and Main Walkways

When buying an online security camera, it helps to think beforehand about where you intend to install the equipment. More often than not, people put CCTVs to monitor high-traffic spots in their homes, such as the front door, walkways, and the backdoor or yard, for example. This way you can monitor the comings and goings of delivery persons, your family members, and their friends. Camera systems will have features, such as video recording, wider view angle, and motion detection that can help you in this regard.

Hidden or Plain Sight?

Do you want people or passers-by to know that you have a camera, or are you thinking of hiding it for surveillance purposes? An IP camera’s specifications can determine if it’s the right hardware for the job, so you’ll have to consider the features carefully. In plain sight, a security camera can be an effective deterrent against intruders, while in hiding mode you’ll be able to monitor the movement of a house help or a building contractor as they complete renovations, for instance.

In a Room or the Garage

Security camera systems can also serve a useful purpose in a room or garage. A garage is considered a possible entry point, to which a CCTV can monitor and alert you if there’s any movement or when the garage door is activated. A room camera is more for surveillance purposes and to ensure the individual there is doing the work as they should.
