Disney has raised prices for many of its U.S. streaming plans, making standalone Disney+ and Hulu subscriptions more expensive while keeping some bundled offers unchanged. The disney streaming price increase took effect immediately for new subscribers on September 23, 2026, while existing customers are expected to see the new rates on their next monthly bill. The move continues a broader industry pattern of recurring streaming price hikes as media companies push viewers toward bundles.

How much more will U.S. Disney streaming subscribers pay?

U.S. subscribers will pay between 50 cents and $3 more per month on several Disney+, Hulu, ESPN Select and bundle plans, depending on the tier. The biggest standalone increase is on ad-free Disney+ and Hulu, which are each rising from $18.99 to $21.49 per month. Disney’s most prominent ad-supported Disney+ and Hulu bundle remains unchanged at $12.99 per month, making the Disney subscription increase less severe for customers already using that bundle.

Key changes include:

  • Disney+ with ads: $12.49 per month, up from $11.99.
  • Disney+ ad-free: $21.49 per month, up from $18.99.
  • Hulu with ads: $12.49 per month, up from $11.99.
  • Hulu ad-free: $21.49 per month, up from $18.99.
  • Disney+ and Hulu with ads bundle: unchanged at $12.99 per month.
  • Disney+ and Hulu ad-free bundle: $21.99 per month, up from $19.99.
  • Disney+, Hulu and ESPN Select with ads: $21.99 per month, up from $19.99.
  • Disney+, Hulu and ESPN Select premium bundle: $32.99 per month, up from $29.99.

The pricing shift favors bundles over standalone plans

The new structure makes Disney’s bundle strategy clearer. A standalone ad-free Disney+ or Hulu subscription now costs $21.49 per month, while the ad-free Disney+ and Hulu bundle costs $21.99. For 50 cents more, subscribers can get both services, which gives Disney a practical way to move customers away from single-service plans and into its combined streaming ecosystem.

That strategy also lines up with Disney’s ongoing integration of Hulu content into Disney+. The company has been working toward a more unified app experience, giving subscribers easier access to Disney, Hulu and ESPN programming from one digital environment. For households that already watch across Disney’s brands, the bundle may now feel less like an add-on and more like the default option.

Why the Disney+ price hike matters

The Disney+ price hike arrives as consumers face higher costs across the streaming market. Disney is not alone: several major streaming providers have raised subscription fees in 2026, reflecting the pressure to fund programming, improve profitability and retain viewers in a crowded market. TechCrunch reported that Disney’s entertainment streaming revenue from Disney+ and Hulu rose 11% to $5.5 billion in the company’s third-quarter 2026 results, helped by subscriber growth and earlier price increases.

For viewers, the practical takeaway is simple: checking the next bill matters. Subscribers on standalone plans may find better value in a bundle, while those who only watch one service occasionally may want to pause, downgrade or rotate subscriptions. The latest disney+ price hike does not change every plan, but it raises the cost of many popular options and reinforces that streaming budgets now need the same regular review as cable bills once did.
