Universal and Blumhouse’s horror sequel Black Phone 2 is available to stream on Peacock, with the movie’s Peacock rollout dated January 16, 2026. The release brings the Ethan Hawke-led follow-up from theaters and premium digital rental into the platform’s horror library, giving Peacock TV subscribers another major studio genre title to watch at home. Peacock’s own Black Phone 2 hub lists the sequel as “now streaming” on the service.

What does the Peacock date mean for viewers?

The January 16 date means viewers can watch Black Phone 2 streaming Peacock as part of Peacock’s movie lineup rather than only through theatergoing or separate digital rental and purchase options. Forbes reported ahead of the launch that the film would arrive on Peacock on Friday, January 16, following its theatrical and premium video-on-demand windows.

For horror fans, the timing positions the sequel as an easy at-home catch-up option for anyone who saw the first film, missed the sequel in theaters, or wants to revisit The Grabber’s return. Peacock also promotes additional horror selections around the film, signaling that the title is being treated as part of a broader genre push on the service.

The sequel continues Finn and Gwen’s story

Black Phone 2 follows Finn, played by Mason Thames, after the events of the first film, while Gwen, played by Madeleine McGraw, becomes central to a new round of disturbing visions and phone calls. Ethan Hawke returns as The Grabber, whose threat continues from beyond the grave, shifting the sequel further into supernatural horror.

The film comes from returning director Scott Derrickson, who again co-wrote with C. Robert Cargill. Vital Thrills reported that the cast also includes Jeremy Davies, Demián Bichir, Miguel Mora, Arianna Rivas, Maev Beaty, Graham Abbey, and Anna Lore.

Fast facts for streaming

  • Streaming home: Peacock
  • Streaming date: January 16, 2026
  • Genre: Supernatural horror thriller
  • Key returning cast: Ethan Hawke, Mason Thames, Madeleine McGraw, Jeremy Davies
  • Creative team: Directed by Scott Derrickson; written by Derrickson and C. Robert Cargill
  • Best fit for: Viewers who watched The Black Phone, Blumhouse fans, and horror audiences looking for a new studio sequel at home

Why the move matters for Peacock’s movie lineup

The arrival gives Peacock another recognizable Universal horror title, a category that has historically fit well with streaming discovery and repeat viewing. Because the film is a sequel to a popular 2022 release, it arrives with built-in audience awareness and a clear hook for subscribers browsing for recent horror.

The move also reinforces the relationship between Universal’s theatrical slate and Peacock’s streaming catalog. Viewers who track new studio releases can now place black phone 2 streaming peacock alongside other recent Universal and Blumhouse titles when deciding what to watch next on Peacock TV.
