On rainy days, the temperature can drop really low and could put your health at risk meaning you have to take measures to make sure that doesn’t happen so you don’t get sick. Here are some ways to keep warm on rainy days while in your Island Residences home.
Hot drink
Make yourself a hot drink. It could be anything, tea, coffee, milk, hot chocolate and more. You stay hydrated, relax, and keep your body temperature warm. You can also make hot soup, porridge and more depending on your preference.
Layer up
Layer up on clothing and wear some sweatpants, pajamas, jackets, a long sleeve shirt. This helps keep the heat in your body and minimizes the chances of you getting chills or letting coldness enter your body.
Get comfy
On your couch or bed get comfy. Combine the first two tips above. Get a warm drink and layer up on clothing and add some heavy blankets, a comforter and pillows to your couch or bed. Read a book or binge watch a series while being wrapped under covers and a hot drink beside you allowing for a comfortable rainy day without getting cold.
Move around
Move around your home to keep your body temperature warm. Walk around, do some light stretches or exercises, and keep blood circulating with movement so that heat will be retained.
Heat compress/pads
You can buy a heat pad or compress online or your local department and drug stores to keep yourself warm. Just put a pad on your body and enjoy its benefits. If you want something that you can keep and is not just a one time use item a heat compress or gel compress is for you. Pour hot water onto the bag or just put the gel compress in the microwave for a few seconds and place it on your body and you are set.
