Training a dog can seem like a daunting task, but it doesn’t have to be!

By breaking the process down into small, manageable steps, you can have your four-legged friend obeying commands in no time.

So, grab some treats and get ready to learn how to train your dog with the help of dog training Spokane.

Session One: Getting Started

The first step in training your dog is getting started on the right foot.

Start by teaching your dog its name and showing them that you are the boss. They are social creatures but they need to know their place in the pack.

Once your dog knows their name and understands that you are the alpha, you can begin working on basic commands like sit, stay, and come.

Session Two: Basic Commands

Now that you have established yourself as the leader of the pack, you can begin working on basic commands.

As mentioned above, commands like sit, stay, and come are always good places to start. Remember to be consistent with your commands and always use the same word or phrase for each behavior. For example, if you want your dog to sit, always use the word “sit” and never say “sitting down” or “sit down.”

Session Three: Advanced Commands

According to dog training Spokane, you can begin working on more advanced commands such as roll over or shake at this point.

These commands will take more time and patience to teach, but once your dog learns them they will be sure to impress all of your friends and family. As with basic commands, be sure to use the same word or phrase each time you ask your dog to perform a certain behavior.

Session Four: Tricks

After your dog has learned all of its basic commands, you can start teaching them fun tricks like playing dead or fetching a ball.

Not only are these tricks a great way to bond with your dog, but they also help improve their obedience skills. Plus, who doesn’t love showing off a well-trained pooch?

Session Five: Socialization

One of the most important aspects of training is socialization according to dog training Spokane. This is especially true for puppies who need to learn how to interact with other dogs and people.

Socialization classes are offered at most pet stores and provide a great opportunity for puppies to make new friends and learn proper canine etiquette.

Session Six: Leash Training

Teaching your dog how to walk properly on a leash will not only make walks more enjoyable for both of you, but it will also help prevent them from getting lost or running away when they see another animal.

There are many different methods of leash training, so be sure to do some research to find one that works best for you and your pup.

Session Seven: Housebreaking

Housebreaking is an important part of training any new puppy or adult dog. By taking the time to properly potty train your pet, you can avoid accidents in the future and ensure that everyone in the family is happy and healthy.

There are many different methods of housebreaking, so again, be sure to do some research before getting started. The most important thing is to be patient and consistent with whichever method you choose.

Conclusion: Putting It All Together

Now that you’ve completed all eight sessions, it’s time to put everything together! Take your pup for a walk around the block or visit a nearby park where they can practice all of their new skills. Remember to reward them with plenty of treats and praise so they know they’re doing a good job!
