Don’t throw away your old devices just yet- try these four ways to give them a new lease and helpful functions.

Sell Your Old Electronics Online

One of the best ways to get a return on your investment is to sell electronics online. Look for websites that can accept them ‘as is’, or regardless of condition. Doing this online is more convenient as you can just have the electronic item shipped and get paid in the platform you prefer. You can declutter or turn old devices into money for other expenses.

Pass Them Down

If you already have a brand new iPhone and thinking of leaving the old model in the garage or drawer, consider passing them down to someone who might appreciate them. It could be a younger relative, a friend, or a neighbor who still uses an old smartphone. Make sure that the gadget is still in working condition so they can use it right away.

Keep as a Backup

A used tablet, laptop, or computer can serve as a backup to the current one you’re using. There may be a time when your gadget may temporarily break down and when you’ll have to wait a long time to get it back from a repair shop. A backup device must be constantly charged if it’s going to be any use- a monthly check-up and charge should more than suffice.

As a Retro Device

The old electronics may not have enough power to run newer games, apps, or software, but you can turn it into a retro device that can play music, classic games, and more. Add a game controller to a Mac, for example, or hook it up to a CCTV in your home and it becomes a retro arcade or a surveillance device. Tablets can be repurposed into a dedicated e-book reader.
