If 2020 was about giving the world time for some introspection, then 2021 is the year to start putting some of it into practice. With all the difficulties faced, now is the time to start taking proper care of your mind and body. On that note; here are five of the top health and wellness trends of 2021 that you should be taking note of if you are looking to start making positive changes in your life.

Using a Vaporizer

Finding easily accessible ways to de-stress in our fast-paced lives can be a struggle. Having a solution in your pocket and easily to hand is the perfect way to keep calm in stressful situations. Using herbs such as chamomile, ginseng and cloves in a vaporizer can help to keep you relaxed while also providing benefits that aid the digestive system and boost energy when needed. The Mighty vaporizer from Storz & Bickel is the perfect way to vaporize herbs and get the most from your vaping experience.

Prebiotics

Filling your plate with foods rich in prebiotics is a great way to look after your gut. They act as a food source to the healthy bacteria in your lower digestive tract, giving you a much healthier digestive system. Not only are they great for your stomach, but they also help to absorb calcium quicker, leaving you with healthier and stronger bones. Foods and drinks that contain prebiotics include kimchi, sauerkraut and kombucha, so it’s also a tasty way to keep healthy.

Yoga Nidra

When yoga comes to mind, most people will conjure up images of having to flex their bodies into positions that look impossible to achieve. However, this is only a small part of practicing yoga and there are ways to use yoga to meditate and achieve a better state of mind without having to exert yourself too much. Yoga nidra will take the person practicing it to a deep level of rest that reduces stress and leaves the body in a more relaxed state.

Going Vegan

In 2021 veganism is becoming more mainstream and it’s no longer the fringe fad it was once perceived as. With a rise in meat replacement products and vegan foods that provide essential nutrients and proteins it is becoming far more accessible, no matter your lifestyle. Adopting a new way of eating can also help you make other healthy food choices, like drinking tea the healthy way and picking blends that focus on specific goals. Beyond the nutritional benefits, there is also the mental wellness aspect of knowing that you are adopting a lifestyle that is hugely beneficial to animals and the environment.

Slow Travel

With restrictions across the world slowly being lifted, the urge to travel is becoming more and more tempting, especially for those who have been stuck at home for most of 2020. Slow travel is the perfect way to increase your mindfulness and scratch that travel itch. Reducing the pace of life is always beneficial, and by traveling at your own speed, appreciating cultures and environments and avoiding oversaturated tourist destinations, you will be adding to your own experiences as well as learning to understand others. You don’t have to fly off to far flung places either, as it can be experienced closer to home so get out there are start exploring.
