Muay Thai is Thailand’s national sport and a way of life for many Thais and other Southeast Asians. Muay Thai’s origins date back over 2000 years. However, there is minimal written history on the subject. Sports were not consistently seen in the same way they are today.

Muay Thai is now widely accepted by both Thais and foreigners in Thailand, as evidenced by recent news that the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has committed to offering full support to the new Lumpinee ข่าวมวย Stadium, which was just finished on Ram Intra Road, in the east of Bangkok. According to the official announcement, this stadium will be equipped with the latest technology. While the old location saw bouts from some of the world’s most renowned boxers, the new location is more accessible to locals and tourists.

Nevertheless, why is this such a big deal? In this article, we’ll look at two different boxers, one American and one Thai – to see how the popularity of this sport has contributed to tourism and garnered support to reopen this historic stadium for มวยไทย7สี.

Observations on Sports

We spoke to two fighters about how the sport grew more generally recognized – Aaron Fisher of Kings Thai Boxing in New York City and Watt Sriboonruang, who is Thai-born but now resides in New York City and comes from a family of fighters.

A native of Thailand, Watt had no interest in Muay Thai since she wanted to attempt a sport that wasn’t indigenous to her country of birth. It’s no secret that Muay Thai was Watt’s career, not his pastime. As a career and means of earning money, Thais practiced Muay Thai. Since she thought it was cool, Watt practiced Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu for many years. Many Thais did not consider the sport to be a recreational activity, but foreigners did. Several people traveled to Thailand to train like locals, which helped promote exposure to the sport worldwide.

Muay Thai-popularity and insight

In Thailand, Muay Thai was considered as an ordinary man’s sport by foreigners, Watt claimed. More foreigners came to Thailand for Muay Thai in the late 1990s. Thus the Thais became more interested in it. Natives are prouder of their local fighters because more foreigners are doing it and fighting.”

To make Muay Thai more accessible to Thailand’s youth and to instill a sense of national pride in Muay Thai, the MBK Shopping Center now features a boxing ring to display fights. Due to its association with a (นักมวยหญิง ) complex, people who may not have considered watching about are more likely to do so.

Originally from Toledo, Ohio, Aaron discovered Muay Thai at a local gym and fell in love with it in the late ’90s. This particular instructor was a Marine who learned the sport while he was stationed in Thailand. The desire to learn more about Muay Thai brought Arron to Phuket in 2004 to train at the Thai academy. His training partners were predominantly locals, but today there are more foreigners. This would allow him to gain a better grasp of the sport’s tradition and, in turn, gain more vital respect for it.

Like many other foreigners, Aaron was not well-liked in Thailand because many others came to train and then left after a few short weeks.

Conclusion

Muay Thai is considered cute by many Thais because they expect you to practice in the Thai method, which includes: There are two training sessions every day, usually from 6-9 am and 4-7 pm, respectively. On the other hand, many others would rather forgo training sessions or stay in a superior hotel than go to the gym.
