Spectrum Hulu: Charter Experience with Hulu

Charter Communications has expanded the streaming value of its Spectrum TV lineup by making Hulu available to eligible Spectrum TV customers at no additional cost. The move, first announced as part of an expanded agreement with The Walt Disney Company, brings Hulu into the same bundled entertainment strategy that already includes Disney+ and ESPN-related streaming access for qualifying video subscribers.

The Hulu on Spectrum rollout is centered on Spectrum TV Select packages. Charter said Hulu with ads would be included in all Spectrum TV Select packages at no extra charge, while Spectrum’s current activation information identifies eligible plans including TV Select Signature, TV Select Plus and TV Platinum for the Disney+, Hulu Bundle.

Spectrum Hulu: What the Charter Spectrum Hulu integration includes

For customers, the update means Hulu’s on-demand library of series, films and originals can be accessed as part of an eligible Spectrum TV subscription rather than as a separately billed streaming plan. Spectrum later confirmed that the Disney+, Hulu Bundle and ESPN DTC Unlimited plan were available to customers with qualifying TV plans, adding that eligible customers could activate these streaming apps through the My Spectrum App or by signing into their Spectrum account online.

The charter spectrum hulu integration also supports Charter’s broader “Seamless Entertainment” approach, which combines live TV with streaming apps under one customer relationship. Spectrum says eligible TV customers receive access to a growing lineup of included streaming apps, with the company positioning the package as more than $100 per month in streaming app value when Hulu and ESPN were added, and more than $125 per month after later app additions.

Disney networks return to Spectrum lineup

The Hulu agreement was not limited to streaming. Charter and Disney also said eight Disney-owned linear networks would return to Spectrum’s channel lineup: Disney Jr., Disney XD, Freeform, FXX, FXM, Nat Geo Wild, Nat Geo Mundo and BabyTV. That makes the deal both a streaming expansion and a traditional pay-TV carriage update.

Industry coverage noted that the expanded agreement followed Charter and Disney’s earlier carriage negotiations, with the new arrangement adding Hulu while restoring networks that had previously been removed from Spectrum’s lineup.

Spectrum Hulu: Why it matters for Spectrum TV customers

The addition of Hulu strengthens Charter’s streaming service strategy at a time when pay-TV providers are trying to make cable packages feel more competitive with standalone streaming bundles. Instead of asking customers to manage separate subscriptions for every app, Spectrum is using included streaming access as a retention and value-building tool.

Eligible customers can activate the Disney+, Hulu Bundle through Spectrum and then stream on supported devices. Charter previously said customers would be able to watch Hulu programming, along with live Spectrum TV channels, through the Xumo Stream Box or on Hulu-supported devices.

For subscribers already paying separately for Hulu, the change may offer a chance to reduce duplicate streaming costs, though eligibility and account setup can vary by plan. Customers should confirm their current Spectrum TV package and activate through Spectrum’s official TV/Streaming account tools before changing any existing subscriptions.
