If you are a football fan, you can’t ignore technology’s impact on the fantastic sport, especially with a new season’s Super 6. Not only from the players’ angle, but the fans are not left out too. You’ll also agree that technology can sometimes have its downsides, but not in this case. With football, it has only gotten better. In fact, here’s how technology has changed football over the years.

  • We can now watch football anywhere.

The fun and thrill of being at a football stadium are almost incomparable. However, life engagements can sometimes make the trip almost impossible. If you are stuck at home, you’ll quickly appreciate how technology has changed football from a fans’ angle. An HD television is an impressive avenue to catch your favorite team in action; it offers you a viewing experience only comparable to being at the stadium.

Are you on the go a whole lot? Live sport-streaming websites offer you the liberty of catching live football action on your mobile phone as long as you are connected to WiFi or have a data subscription. More than ever, safely watching football is essential, considering that we are trying to curb the spread of a highly contagious virus.

  • Technology is making football safer.

There’s no doubt that football is an extremely high-pace sport. Speed is one of the necessary skills players use to outwit their opponents, thereby making it easy to sustain injury when players tackle each other. In some cases, players are out of the game for quite some time due to injuries.

Thankfully, it’s not as rampant these days because of technological advancements. Shin-guards and boots are now reinforced so players can enjoy a safer game. Even better, headbands that measure head impact are in the works.

  • Technology has improved training and wellbeing.

Technology provides easy access to fitness/wellness data, which was not available years ago. For example, coaches and players can now use fitness trackers to ensure proper training. The number of steps taken can easily be tracked and documented during training.

Furthermore, some trackers allow users to monitor players’ ability to use both feet effectively.

There’s more; they can equally ensure their well being by digitally monitoring their sleep pattern using sleep trackers. This way, they can take necessary actions towards improving their lifestyle in general. Altogether, technology brings out the best in players.

  • Reward for passion

Apart from the thrill of seeing your team play, football lovers can now enjoy legit, financial gain for being fans. Gone are the days where gambling leads to disagreement or even violence due to unbearable losses.

Now technology is an easy avenue to engage in sports betting in your home, on the go, or at dedicated sports betting outlets. With various odds automatically programmed into sport betting apps, football fans can place bets and gain quick access to their winnings.

  • VAR promotes fair play.

VAR (video-assisted referee) might sound like a new thing. Still, it’s merely an adaptation of the instant replay technology that made it possible to catch an exciting moment of the game long after it’s done. It’s like eating your cake and having it for a short while. Nevertheless, many people think otherwise about VAR’s introduction to the industry. But you have to admit there’s no doubt that technology has solved many infringement scenarios.

Furthermore, there have been fewer cases of referees being attacked by angry fans for making a supposed “false” decision against their team. No doubt, VAR can be improved in terms of efficiency. However, saying that it is not needed is completely invalidating the importance of technology.
