Thin hair, also known as fine hair, can look flat and scanty, making it appear like you don’t have much hair. Another drawback about fine hair is that it can easily get weighed down by hair products, yet retain so much oil. This then gives it an overall dull appearance. Now, while you cannot do anything about having fine hair, you can certainly get the best out of it. In this article, you will be learning the best ways to care for your fine natural hair so keep reading.

1. Eat Right

As someone with thin hair, it is important to watch what you eat as this affects your hair follicles. Make sure you eat foods that are rich in protein like beans, eggs, nuts, fish, milk, etc. Also, make sure you eat foods that are rich in vitamin B like chicken, cheese, green peas, etc. These foods help to strengthen your hair follicles, thus preventing excessive thinning and hair loss. Also, make sure you do not consume too much processed foods as they can lead to hair problems.

2. Stay Away from Sulfates Shampoo

Shampoos containing sulfates have been found to be harsh on hair follicles. This in turn weakens the hair strands, leading over time to thinning and hair breakage. As someone with thin hair, you don’t want that problem. Instead of using sulfate shampoos, go for sulfate-free shampoos, especially volumizing shampoos. The nutrients in these shampoos help to nourish your hair follicles. They also strengthen your hair strands, leading to healthy hair.

3. Use a Scalp Massager

As its name suggests, a scalp massager is a hair tool used to massage the scalp to encourage blood flow circulation. When your blood flow circulates freely, it helps to improve hair growth. Furthermore, when used, the bristles of a scalp massager help to calm down your stress level.

4. Avoid Heat Styling

As someone with fine thin hair, you should avoid styling your hair with heat styling tools as much as possible. This is because the heat from those tools can be damaging to your already fragile hair strands.

To straighten your hair, you can use safe heatless methods like African threading, braids, and twists. To curl your hair, you can use heatless methods such as Flexi rods or perm rods.

If you however still want to use heat, make sure you apply a heat protectant to your hair first. Also, make sure you use heat styling tools as seldom as you can. Preferably use a protective style such as wigs.

5. Use Clip-ins/Blow Out Hair Extensions

Clip-in and blow-out hair extensions can help your hair achieve a fuller and thicker look. The best part is that they are easy to style and you can style them yourself. For example, the Afro Kinky Clip-Ins created especially for ladies with 4b/4c hair texture blend in so well that it becomes almost impossible to tell natural hair and extension apart. Similarly, the Kinky Coily Ponytail blends well in with 3c/4a hair texture.

Clip-ins, blow-out hair, and other natural textured hair extensions can be gotten from this Natural Hair Wig Shop.
