Not sure whether to choose fillers or neurotoxins? We’re here to help!

Neurotoxins

Neurotoxins, like Botox, Dysport, Xeomin, Jeuveau, and Daxxify are made of botulinum toxin and are injected into muscles to relax them in targeted areas. This can be useful in many areas, some of which include:

  1. Areas in the upper face to reduce the appearance of wrinkles, such as the forehead, between the brows, crows feet, and bunny lines on the nose).
  2. The platysmal bands (the vertical muscles in the neck) to soften their appearance.
  3. The masseters (the muscles on the side of the jaw) to slim the jawline.
  4. The orbicularis oris (the muscle surrounding the mouth) for a lip flip, stopping the top lip from curling under when smiling to make it appear larger.
  5. Above the upper lip to improve a gummy smile.
  6. Into the chin, to reduce it from curling upwards, making it appear more pointed.

Dermal Fillers

Dermal Fillers, like Juvederm, Restylane, Belotero, RHA, Radiesse, and Sculptra, are used to add or restore volume to decrease the appearance of wrinkles and improve your face’s contour. They use hyaluronic acid and similar substances to “fill in” or plump areas that have lost their smoothness or lack definition. Dermal fillers can last anywhere between 6 months to 2 years, depending on the type of filler and patient. Areas commonly treated with dermal fillers include:

  1. Lips, to make them more plump and to improve their shape.
  2. The jawline and chin, to make them appear more defined and contoured.
  3. The nose, to straighten the bridge or disguise the appearance of bumps.
  4. The cheeks, to improve the appearance of the cheekbones or create support to lift the undereyes, smile lines, and jawline, creating a more uplifted look.
  5. The temples, to improve hollowness.
  6. The undereyes, to also improve hollowness and some causes of dark circles.
