If you’ve played lots of video games and call yourself a true gamer, you’ve probably run into a challenging level and felt stuck in a “boss fight” at some point. You’ve got to face the particularly tough enemy that you have to defeat in order to progress in your game. Today, we’ll talk about tips and tricks for conquering climax battles and grueling boss encounters.

Prepare

Preparing for a boss fight can sometimes take hours playing in your condo at Skye at Holland or even days, depending on the game. To actually progress, you could either take a simple trip to the shop or do an insanely long side quest that often takes you to the other side of the world. But remember, preparation is the key to getting through the difficulties in your life (or progressing in a video game).

Practice Run

Once you’re confident enough to take on a boss, instead of thinking you can beat it first try, you should try to do what’s called a “practice run”. Every boss fight is unique, but unless you’re playing the game on “baby mode”, you’re most likely not to defeat the boss first try. The goal of a practice run is to gain firsthand experience of what the boss fight is going to be like.

Memorize & Strategize

As you go through every run, try to memorize the boss fights’ “moveset” either mentally or physically (the classic pen and paper). Most of the time, these movesets often have a pattern that you can memorize. After that, you can strategize by thinking of various ways to maneuver that specific move and overcome it easily.

Trial and Error

You know what they say; you can never succeed first try. Even after preparing, practicing, and memorizing/strategizing, you would most likely not defeat it immediately. Just keep doing the tips and tricks above and power through, until finally, after hours or even days of hard work, you ultimately conquer the boss!
