A clean office creates healthy work. Spotless environments that get cleared every day perk up workers. Keeping a neat workplace makes employees able to work a lot easier and stay focused. There is also a good impression on visitors and clients.

Nevertheless, house cleaning is not enough. After some time, dust, germs, and dirt will build up. This makes deep cleaning a compulsory thing to do. Cleaning is considered a complicated task, as deep cleaning goes beyond doing the everyday chores. Deep cleaning covers up all of the areas that don’t get attention from regular cleaning. Therefore, how often should one deep clean an office? Let’s find out!

Why Deep Cleaning Is Important

A deep clean is important for any office because of various reasons. Daily, surfaces such as phones, keyboards, desks, and doorknobs are handled by many people. Over time, bacteria develop on these surfaces. Dust accumulates in carpets, on ventilation systems, and in corners, provoking allergies or illnesses.

The deep clean gets to the dirt, germs, and allergens found in places not easily reached. Such a careful deep cleaning keeps the air fresh and rather healthy. A clean working environment reduces the cases of sick days taken and raises the morale of employees.

Companies usually hire professionals to handle the job, like the Evergreen Cleaning Company which has valuable experience doing office deep cleaning. They use modern equipment while maintaining ecological products to ensure the cleanliness of the place.

How Often Should You Deep Clean?

How often your office is deep cleaned will depend on several specific considerations. Some offices require far more frequent cleanings than others. Here are a few factors to consider.

  • Office size and type: Larger offices should be deep cleaned more often than smaller ones. With more people, there lies a greater chance of dirt built up. For instance, there is a medical clinic attached to the call center. Thus, such places will require deep cleaning much more often than your average office space.

Employee Count: An office with 50 employees collects much more dust and germs than an office with only 10. More employees mean faster accumulation of dirt, dust, and germs, making it especially important to have deep cleaning every three months, at the minimum.

It’s important to remember that some businesses are stricter about cleaning schedules. For instance, health clinics, daycare centers, and gyms must abide by health and safety regulations. Generally, this would mean deep cleaning once a month.

A Simple Deep Cleaning Schedule

Here’s a general guide to help you plan:

  • Once a Month
Common areas like kitchens, break rooms, and bathrooms should be deep cleaned every month. These areas are hotspots for germs.
  • Every Three to Six Months
Office carpets, upholstery, and windows should be deep cleaned at least every three to six months. This removes stains, dust, and allergens.
  • Once a Year
Air vents, ceiling tiles, and lighting fixtures can be deep cleaned once a year. But if your office is in a dusty area, you may need to do it more often.

Signs It’s Time for a Deep Clean

Sometimes your office will show signs that it needs a deep clean. Watch out for these clues:

  • Musty smells
  • Visible dust on surfaces
  • Dirty carpets or stained chairs
  • More employees getting sick
  • Dust in air vents

If you notice any of these signs, it’s time to schedule a deep cleaning.

Benefits of Regular Deep Cleaning

Deep cleaning does more than make things look nice. It creates a healthier workplace. Employees breathe cleaner air and get sick less often. Clean offices also help improve mood and focus.

Clients and visitors will also notice the difference. A clean office shows you care about details and professionalism.

Deep cleaning your office space is essential. It keeps your workplace healthy, safe, and welcoming. In general, you should deep clean every three to six months. But if your business deals with health or food services, you may need to clean more often.
