Landing your preferred job or position takes time and careful planning. If you want to have a higher chance of being picked, here are four technology-related tips you can follow.

Tailor-Fit Your CV Before Sending

Your CV will be the first piece of information about an applicant, and therefore it’s important that you stand out from the rest. Compare your current CV to the job posting the company put up- do the skills and requirements they need match? If not, make some changes that allow the recruiter to draw a direct line from their needs to your competencies.

Research the Role and Company Online

Learn more about your future employer by doing some background work. You can start by visiting the company’s official website and finding out what they do, which industry they’re in, and their brand statement. While you’re at it, you should find out how much the position usually pays so you can complete salary expectations answer on application.

Negotiate the Salary You Want

Having the right salary is crucial to overall job satisfaction. It pays to know the correct way to handle the what is your desired salary answer so you can value your job. When you know how to negotiate a job offer and have an idea of what the industry is paying for the role, you can be more confident and actually get the salary you want.

Practice

Confidence is key to succeeding in a job interview. Run through some of the most common questions asked in the interview and have a friend or family member act as the recruiter. Have some good answers ready and remember to highlight your skills and how you can help the company become better. An impromptu interview or two should iron out the wrinkles and prepare you for the real interview to come.
