Scientists and health experts are discovering many health conditions daily that are caused by air pollution. Most people often question where they got specific conditions and diseases only to find out that it was from a polluted environment. Most of those working in industries where the fumes are more and chemicals used are hazardous will develop chronic diseases that take time before healing.

Even though you might not be working in an industrial area, you are excluded from the numerous disease you can get due to environmental pollution. The cars you drive can cause significant air pollution and lead to fine particles being disposed of in the air. In such cases, considering a solution to reduce air pollution by fine particles is essential. This solution helps customize your vehicle and repair it to make it more environmentally friendly than it was. This article will explore ways air pollution affects our health.

What is Air Pollution?

Before indulging in the diseases that air pollution causes, it’s essential to understand what air pollution is to know how to prevent and avoid it for better health. The air gets polluted in different ways, but the most common is pollution by fine particles. The range of pollutants has effects on all ages and irrespective of being indoor or outdoor.

Some indoor pollutants include household chemicals, building materials such as lead, pollen, and tobacco smoke. The outdoor pollutants include tobacco smoke and harmful gases such as sulfur dioxide or nitrogen oxides.

Effects of Air Pollution on the Health

When evaluating the health problems caused by air pollution, we often classify them into short-term and long-term exposure risks.

Short-term Exposure

Short-term exposure to air pollution often affects the respiratory system since most of this pollutant will enter the body through breathing. This exposure often leads to reduced lung function and respiratory infections. When exposed to contaminants such as sulfur dioxide, you may get an eye infection and damage your respiratory tract. Other people will develop asthma, with others might feel irritation of the skin or all of them. That’s why it’s essential to avoid all pollutants by considering harmless and effective products.

Long Term Exposure

There are many long-term effects of air pollution, and some as still under research. Some of the long-term exposure include

Lung Cancer

When you live in a highly polluted environment, you are likely to be at risk of getting lung cancer that is severe and which can lead to death. Different pollutants in the air contribute to lung cancer.

Chronic Pulmonary Disease

Some particular pollutants can cause severe chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) linked to death. COPD is a group of diseases, such as chronic bronchitis and emphysema. These diseases often cause breathing-related problems by blocking the airways. You should note that there is no cure for COPD, but treatment can help reduce symptoms.

Bottom Line!

Some of these diseases can be avoided by practicing healthy and eco-friendly practices. Ensure you visit dealers that use eco-friendly materials for repair instead of fixing those that can have hazardous ones. If you are experiencing symptoms of either disease, see a doctor to help you.
