Paris, Texas (1984)

Recently watched: Paris, Texas swept everything before it at the Cannes Festival in 1984 and is an engrossing tale of a broken man who emerges from the desert after four years of wandering in the wilderness to try and piece together his life again. Though not all of its pieces fit together perfectly, Paris, Texas is beautifully filmed, features a haunting soundtrack, and accurately conveys the feeling of wanting to go somewhere with “no language and no roads”.
